SYNOPSIS:

Joe Pyfer was raised to be a fighter. He started training at just 4 years old when he started competing in Jiu Jitsu. His childhood was a nightmare, as he was subject to brutal physical and verbal abuse by his father. After receiving one of the worst physical beatings of his life at the age of 16, Joe ran away from home and spent the winter nights sleeping on a park bench. This was until Joe's high school wrestling coach took him in. Now free from the abuse, Joe continued to train to be a professional fighter. He made his amateur debut straight out of high school and quickly turned professional after knocking out almost everyone put in front of him. Joe quickly rose through the professional ranks and made it to the Dana White's Contender series to fight for a spot in the biggest fight promotion in the world, the UFC. During the fight, Joe suffered a horrific arm injury which almost ended his career. After almost two years of surgeries and rehab, Joe returned to fighting and got another chance to achieve his dream of getting into the UFC. This time, as the underdog, he knocked his opponent out in a triumphant return. Joe already had an amazing comeback story from the brutal abuse he suffered as a child, but after overcoming a seemingly career-ending injury, it became clear that this was one of the best comeback stories the sport had seen.
